     Saturday's Ravens-Giants game received an 8.3 rating and a
26 share in the Baltimore area.  Milton Kent notes "with token
counterprogramming" and a new team, the rating seems
"disappointing" (Baltimore SUN, 8/13)....CBS Sports has named
Danny Sheridan as "in-house expert" for college football
telecasts (CBS Sports)....Michael Kim, a local sports anchor in
Washington, DC, will join ESPNEWS (USA TODAY, 8/13)....Ratings
for the PGA Tour are down 11% to a 3.2 average this year.
Overnights for the PGA Championships on CBS show a 2.9 on
Saturday and a 4.0 on Sunday (USA TODAY, 8/13). ...CBS Sports
Radio will be exclusive carrier of Saturday's Mets-Padres game in
Monterrey, Mexico (CBS Radio)....The National In-Line Hockey
Association announced its new site on the Web at
http://www.niha.com (NIHA)..... GolfWeb set up a congratulatory
e-mail page for fans to send messages to PGA Championship winner
Mark Brooks at http://www.golfweb.com.  GolfWeb recently
presented Nick Faldo with 1,000 plus e-mails sent to him after
his win at The Masters.  He had given a written thank you to fans
and recorded a Real Audio message as well (THE DAILY).
