OSCEOLA SETTLES FOR THE WAITING GAME

Unable to secure Orange County or Walt Disney Co. as
financial partners, Osceola County has suspended talks with the
Bucs about building a new stadium and bringing the team to
Central FL, according to the ORLANDO SENTINEL. Some observers,
however, say the lack of a backup deal may help to Osceola since
Hillsborough County voters might be more apt to support a
September 3 stadium referendum if there was a clear move option
within FL. Osceola County Auditor Doug Martin: "If it doesn't
pass, hopefully [the Bucs] will be ready to negotiate again with
us. If we jointly work with other players, such as Disney and
Orange County, we could bring the Bucs here." Osceola had hoped
or $2-$4M from Disney or Orange to build a $168-$192M stadium and
training facility (Millican & Williams, ORLANDO SENTINEL, 7/24).
