GIANTS DO THE FRONT OFFICE SHUFFLE

     With an emphasis on their proposed new ballpark at China
Basin, the Giants announced promotions and hired several new
people whose tasks will revolve around the new park, according to
Glenn Dickey of the S.F. CHRONICLE.  Limited Partner Larry Baer,
who has served as the club's Exec VP since '92, has been promoted
to Exec VP & COO.  Baer will continue to handle the overall day-
to-day functioning of the organization -- on both the business
and baseball sides.  He will also serve as President & COO of the
China Basin Ballpark Corp. (CBBC), the entity formed to finance
and build the new stadium.   Meanwhile, Tom McDonald has been
named VP/Marketing for CBBC.  He previously served as a sales and
marketing exec for the Blazers and the Oregon Arena Corp. and
will head the Giants' charter seats sale drive.  In addition,
Staci Walters, Press Secretary to former S.F. Mayor Frank Jordan,
was hired as Dir of Public Affairs for issues related to Pacific
Bell Park.  Other promotions:  John Yee, the club's VP & CFO
since '92, has been elevated to Senior VP & CFO; Mario Alioto to
VP/Marketing and Sales; Jack Blair to VP & General Counsel; and
Bob Rose to VP/ Communications (S.F. CHRONICLE, 5/30).
