BALTIMORE TEAM "RAVEN" ABOUT PSL PRICES

The Ravens announced their PSL policy and Baltimoreans
learned "the NFL has gotten more expensive" than the days when
Colts bleacher seats sold for $4, reports Jon Morgan of the
Baltimore SUN. PSL prices range from $500-$3,000 and ticket
prices range from $17-$75 with an average of $40.05. The NFL's
average is $33.39 and Browns tickets last season averaged $32.61.
The team says the $68M raised from PSL's will help defray moving
expenses, such as paying off leases and debts in Cleveland and
covering NFL assessments which it estimates add up to $125M.
Though the Ravens deal with the Maryland Stadium Authority
allowed them to charge up to $80M in PSL's, the team chose to
sell $68M with the first $5M going to the MSA (Baltimore SUN,
5/17). Ken Denlinger of the WASHINGTON POST writes that Ravens
officials say that though the highest PSL price is a lofty
$3,000, "just over 60%" of the seats will cost $750 or less and
while PSL's in St. Louis average $1,320 and in Carolina average
$2,234, the Ravens PSLs will average $1,028. Team VP for
Marketing and Sales David Cope: "This is the best value PSL plan
ever introduced in the NFL" (WASHINGTON POST, 5/17).
