FRANCHISE NOTES

     The Blue Jays drew 36,316 for their home opener yesterday,
the lowest attendance for a home opener since '84 (Toronto GLOBE
& MAIL, 4/10). In Chicago, the White Sox sold 34,750 for
yesterday's opener, but there were approximately 25,000 that
showed (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 4/10)...The Jaguars are hosting the
first Budweiser "Draft Day Fan Fest" on Saturday April 20.
Admission is free (Jaguars)....The Sabres unveil their new
uniform tomorrow (Sabres)....If the Phillies Darren Daulton's
knee injury forces him out of baseball, "it might set up a muddy
financial situation" involving Daulton, the team and the
Phillies' insurer.  One question is how much the team will be
able to collect on the insurance policy and if Daulton is judged
physically unable to play, or whether he decides he can't play to
a certain level (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 4/9)....Bucs officials
and supporters were in Tallahassee lobbying for a tax referendum
to keep the team in Tampa (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 4/10).
