STADIUM NOTES

A women who fell from a second deck railing in '94 at The
Ballpark in Arlington while posing for a photo has sued the
Rangers and the architects who designed the stadium. The suit
does not ask for a specific dollar amount (FT. WORTH STAR-
TELEGRAM, 4/10)....S.F. columnist Glenn Dickey writes teams take
a "substantial risk" with PSLs because "they're making a basic
change in their fan base." Dickey: "Those who pay for club seats
and luxury suites demand the best, which means not only winning
by a high standard of entertainment" (S.F. CHRONICLE,
4/10)....ESPN's Peter Gammons examined MLB's "Ballpark Mania."
Not including renovations in Anaheim and a possible retractable
roof for Joe Robbie, there could be 21 new stadiums built by
2003. If all present plans come to fruition, the three oldest
MLB parks in 2003 would be Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium and the
Astrodome ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 4/9).
