DOME IS WHERE THE DOUGH IS? COCA-COLA DONATES TO COTTON BOWL

The Cotton Bowl Dome Foundation is expected to announce a
donation of at least $500,000 by Coca-Cola to aid in the
feasibility study of a dome over the Cotton Bowl, according to
this morning's DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The money is expected to
help "finance several of the foundation's operations, including
marketing, architectural plans and fund raising arms of the
project that is being driven by local businessmen." Sources say
total donations will be $1M, and while the identity of a second
donor was unclear, EDS Corp. has been speculated. The cost of a
dome project is about $120M, while officials hope to increase
capacity to 84,000 (Lee & Richardson, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/10).
