WHAT'S NEXT FROM NEW WIEDEN & KENNEDY FOR ESPN

ESPN will begin airing promos for its coverage of the
Women's NCAA Basketball Tournament "within the next few weeks or
so," according to ESPN Advertising Dir Allan Broce. The ads,
produced by Portland, OR based Wieden & Kennedy, will feature
game footage of Tennessee, Connecticut, Louisiana Tech, and
Virginia women's players shot during the November 19 State Farm
Women's Tip Off Classic. Music accompanying the spots includes
gospel legend Dorothy Norwood's rendition of "Brick House" and
rocker Joan Jett singing the theme to "The Mary Tyler Moore
Show."
"SPORTSCENTER": While still awaiting final spot market
ratings on the first round of the "This Is SportsCenter"
campaign, Wieden & Kennedy Account Supervisor Sherry Rogers
reported the response has been so positive they are "looking to
update the ads over the next few months."
BASEBALL'S NEXT: Broce said ESPN and Wieden & Kennedy
officials are currently meeting to review strategies and prepare
shooting schedules for the network's upcoming MLB promos. Noting
that Wieden & Kennedy's relationship with ESPN is "year-round,"
Broce said to be on the lookout for Art Donovan Super Bowl ads,
more Robert Goulet college basketball promos, and pro golf spots
(THE DAILY).
