EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     Appointments at Herman's Sporting Goods: MICHAEL O'NEAL has
been named Exec VP & COO.  He was previously VP of  Logistics &
Info Services.  BOB MARTIN was appointed Senior VP/Store
Operations.  He was previously General Merchandise Manager.  LORI
BRIEL takes over as General Merchandise Manager.  DORINDA FREEMAN
was promoted to Senior VP/ Marketing from VP.   MICHAEL WORRALL
has been appointed Exec VP/Chief Administrative Officer.  He was
previously Senior VP/Strategic Planning (Herman's)....JOHN HEWIG,
hired this summer as Devils VP/Commun. and Broadcasting, has
resigned over "differences in philosophy" (N.Y. TIMES, 12/19)....
STEVE FLATOW has joined as VP/Group Account Dir at Einson
Freeman.  He was President of SDF Managing Group, a consulting
firm specializing in sports and TV.  He will build Einson's
sports marketing business (Einson Freeman). ....RICHARD BARRON
resigned as VP/GM of Prime Deportiva, the Spanish-language
subsidiary of Liberty Sports.  Barron will continue as President
of TransMedia Communications, a Houston-based consulting firm (AD
AGE ONLINE, 12/19).... LAURA ZAPPI was named Manager of Broadcast
Marketing at the USOC, not Director, as reported yesterday (THE
DAILY).
