MEDIA NOTES

     Philadelphia's Fox affil agreed to guarantee purchase of all
unsold tickets for Sunday's Eagles-Cardinals game.  Roughly 4,000
tickets remain.  Sources say the station wants to assure a
"perfect lead-in" for a one-hour special on Vietnam (PHILADELPHIA
DAILY NEWS, 12/14)....ESPN tennis analyst Mary Carillo will
reportedly move to HBO for a "long-term exclusive" deal to cover
Wimbledon once her ESPN deal expires at the end of the year.
Carillo has renewed her contract with CBS to handle U.S. Open
coverage (Rudy Martzke, USA TODAY, 12/14)....Basic cable
delivered its highest prime-time rating for an official Nielsen
30-week season, in the period ended December 10. Basic cable had
a 19.5 rating, a gain of 26.6% over last year's 15.4.  The major
broadcast networks set a new low with a 36.3, down 4.3% from '94
(AD AGE ONLINE, 12/14).... Stella Interactive, a sports
multimedia software publisher, announced they will release
"Florida Football" and "Nebraska Football" on CD-ROM, focussing
on the history and highlights of both programs.  The programs are
part of the ABC Sports series that also include Notre Dame,
Michigan, Florida State, USC, Ohio State and Penn State (Stella
Interactive).
