CLEVELAND'S DAWGS WON'T BE CAUGHT SNIFFING NEAR THE POUND

Despite 70,000 tickets sold for the Browns home game
against the Packers this Sunday, one Browns staffer has guessed
that no more than 20,000 fans will show up (Bob McGinn, MILWAUKEE
JOURNAL SENTINEL, 11/15).
NEW CITY, SAME COVERAGE: Browns Owner Art Modell is "upset
about media" coverage in Baltimore, according to Bart Hubbach of
the Akron BEACON-JOURNAL. Modell has been "so stung by several
negative columns" in the Baltimore Sun, that he "dispatched one
of his representatives to complain." Modell spokesperson David
Hopcraft visited the Sun newsroom, with Modell reportedly saying
"at least let me find Charles Street before you start to rip me."
Some columnists have "called on Modell to leave the Browns name
and colors behind, as well as professing their distaste for how
the move is being handled" (Akron BEACON-JOURNAL, 11/14).
