has 30 days to decide whether or not to accept a multi-year tour
sponsorship offer from Corel Corp. When retained last year, IMG
"promised the WTA nothing less than a four-year, $16 million
deal. However, some sports marketing experts are skeptical that
Corel will be able to provide the kind of marketing support the
WTA needs" (AD AGE ONLINE, 9/13)....In L.A., Alan Malamud reports
negotiations have begun for a George Foreman-Michael Moorer fight
at Madison Square Garden on March 8, but that "corporate
sponsorship might be needed to meet Foreman's asking price" (L.A.
TIMES, 9/13)....Fuji Film is selling a 16-lens camera in Japan
that takes 16 pictures in rapid succession, "enabling golfers to
get a complete record of their swing from start to finish." Fuji
Film said they have no plans to sell the camera worldwide because
it "uses a special film not widely available outside Japan" (USA
TODAY, 9/13).... The IHL S.F. Spiders and SportsChannel Pacific
unveiled the team's new jersey's at Planet Hollywood yesterday.
SportsChannel is the exclusive sponsor of the team's jerseys and
their logo will be placed on all home, away and practice jerseys,
as well as on all authentic and replica jerseys sold at retail
locations (Spiders).
