     CHARLES WEST will resign as President of Meridan Sports'
MasterCraft Boat Company July 31.  He has been President of
MasterCraft since 1987 (Meridian Sports).... ESPN analyst MIKE
MILBURY met with Islanders GM DON MALONEY yesterday concerning
the vacant coaching job with the team.  Milbury is said to "very
interested" in the position (N.Y. POST, 6/29)....Drug Czar LEE
BROWN plans to talk to Yankees Owner GEORGE STEINBRENNER and
other top MLB figures about adopting stricter drug standards
(AP/ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 6/29)....The San Jose Sports Hall of
Fame will induct its first six athletes tomorrow.  Among those
being inducted:  JIM PLUNKETT and DONNA DE VARONA (S.F.
CHRONICLE, 6/28).
