     Foot Locker held a nationwide store survey in more than
1,400 of their stores on May 12-13 asking more than 200,000
consumers which number Michael Jordan should wear?  59% said No.
23; 24% said No. 45; 17% had no opinion (Foot Locker). .....Ann
Arbor, MI-based Extang Corporation has been designated "Official
Truck Bed Cover of the NASCAR SuperTruck Series by Craftsman"
(NASCAR)....The Major Indoor Lacrosse League is seeking sponsors
for the '96 Winter Season, providing in-event presence,
marketing, and promotional tie-ins including coverage on ESPN (AD
AGE, 5/15 issue)....UConn's Rebecca Lobo has reportedly signed a
three- year endorsement contract with Spalding Sports Worldwide.
Details will be announced today at the Spalding headquarters (USA
TODAY, 5/16)....Molson annual financial results are expected to
be released tomorrow.  The company faces an estimated $17M loss
from the NHL lockout (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 5/16)....The WTA Tour
championships will be held at Madison Square Garden Nov. 13-19 as
part of a deal to keep the tournament in New York through 2000.
The event will have rotating courtside advertising (AP/N.Y.
TIMES, 5/16)....UCLA's Ed O'Bannon will participate Nike's
"Reuse-A-Shoe" program with 4th and 5th graders Thursday in Costa
Mesa, CA (Nike)....Anheuser-Busch said their Elephant Red beer,
brewed by Labatt of Canada and imported into the U.S.,  will be
distributed nationwide.  It is brewed with 5.6% alcohol, much
stronger than regular beers (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH,
5/16)....Bass Pro Shops, a MO-based fishing and catalog retailer,
has been searching for an expansion site along Interstate 95 in
Palm Beach, FL and Broward counties to open a superstore (Ft.
Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, 5/15). ....Red Rock Cola, through
American West distributor, has secured the right to use Babe
Ruth's likeness on its cans and bottles (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
5/16).
