TV NETS ALL TRY TO TIE THEIR WAGONS TO JORDAN

     Michael Jordan will join Pat O'Brien Saturday when CBS
carries "Doritos Presents Inside the Game with Michael Jordan."
It will air between the NCAA Final Four games about 7:30 p.m. EST
(USA TODAY, 3/28)....The Bulls-Magic game on TNT Friday night was
seen in an estimated 2.044M homes, tying a TNT regular season NBA
record.  The game received a 3.3 -- without being shown in
Chicago or Orlando (WASHINGTON POST, 3/28)....According to the
WASHINGTON POST, ABC News is "giving a big assist" to Jordan for
the March 19 win in ratings by NBC's "Meet the Press."  The show
beat "This Week with David Brinkley" in the "clearest victory"
since October '88.  "Meet" was the lead-in to the Bulls-Pacers
game which featured Jordan (WASHINGTON POST, 3/28). ....In New
York, Richard Sandomir critiques TNT's half-hour show on Jordan
before Friday's game as being "overdone except as a commercial
vehicle" (N.Y. TIMES, 3/28).
