     At the Int'l Sport Summit, ROB APATOFF, L.A. Gear VP for
Marketing, announced he will become Chief Marketing Officer at
U.S. Healthcare (THE DAILY).
     FROM INSIDE MEDIA:  NBC has named JOHN LUGINBILL
VP/Advertising Sales Manager for the Central Region.  Luginbill
formerly held the same position for the Eastern Central
Region....JOHN KASTBERG has been promoted to GM & VP by The
Sporting News....NICK NILES has been named President, CEO and
Publisher of Golf Magazine Properties.  He will also retain his
former position as President of The Sporting News Publishing
Company (INSIDE MEDIA, 1/4-17 issue)....The Nick Bollettieri
Tennis Academy has appointed MIKE DEPALMER to Dir of Tennis
(NBTA)....The Rockies yesterday promoted KELI MCGREGOR to VP of
Operations and SUE ANN MCCLAREN to Asst VP of Ticket Operations
(Rockies)....Walt Disney Co. appointed DAVID MALMUTH to head its
Disneyland Resort theme park project in Anaheim (L.A. TIMES,
1/18).

     Rangers Hall of Famer ROD GILBERT signed a personal services
agreement yesterday with The Dime Savings Bank of N.Y.  The bank
will use Gilbert in its advertising and promotions, including TV,
radio and print ads, as well as in its marketing and sales
efforts (Schulte Marketing)....
"Entertainment Tonight" interviewed DOROTHY HAMILL.  Hamill will
stop touring at the end of her current self-owned Ice Capades
tour.  The Family Channel has bought 80% of the tour and the
remaining 20% is yet to be sold ("ET," 1/17)....USA TODAY has a
special report in today's issue that lists the base salaries and
bonuses for every player in the NFL (USA TODAY, 1/18)....EVANDER
HOLYFIELD has renewed talks for a fight in Atlanta in May
