COCA-COLA CHANGES STRATEGY IN ASIA ... AND IN SPACE?

     Coca-Cola has dropped Interpublic Groups's McCann-Erickson
Worldwide as its advertising agency in China, according to this
morning's WALL STREET JOURNAL.  The account in Hong Kong, Taiwan,
and China will be split between D'Arcy, Maisus, Benton & Bowles
of New York and Singapore-based Batey Ads (WALL STREET JOURNAL,
12/19).
During the next space shuttle mission in February, astronauts
will study how Coca-Cola tastes in space.  Three members of the
shuttle will each sample four ounces of Coke and Diet Coke on
three separate days.  Coca-Cola invested about $750,000 for the
test (Mark Carreau, HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 12/16).
