DRAFT OF MEGAPLEX STUDY DEFERS STADIUM

The Boston Redevelopment Authority's unreleased draft of
recommendations for a proposed downtown megaplex includes
delaying construction of a 70,000-seat domed stadium until
traffic concerns are further explored. State legislative leaders
suggest building the convention center on a site which could
later accomodate a stadium, but, as one source said: "There
doesn't appear to be a site in Boston that can easily
accommodate" the number of cars leaving the city on game days.
If a stadium is omitted, the Weld administration is expected to
reccommend state aid to refurbish Foxboro Stadium (Meg
Vaillancourt, BOSTON GLOBE, 9/11).
