War Of Words Continues

A tweet from Haas F1 sponsor Rich Energy on Sunday "appears to show a letter addressed to Rich Energy CEO William Storey" from Haas F1's legal representation. The "apparent letter" details the terms of the sponsorship agreement between Haas and Rich Energy, "among other things." The terms have been "a mystery since the partnership was announced" in late '18. Rich Energy tweeted last week that it was terminating the partnership due to Haas' "poor performance" this season. Haas "has apparently decided to accept the breach" and wants £35M ($44M) in damages within two weeks. The letter tweeted by Rich Energy says the "sums due" by Rich Energy are £14M ($17.5) for '20 and £15M ($18.8M) for '21 (JALOPNIK, 7/14).

Rich Energy's Twitter account is "seemingly being controlled by, or for the benefit of," Storey. He accused Rich Energy shareholders who denied that the Haas deal had been terminated of a "palace coup" (GP FANS, 7/15).
