Virgin Media will no longer be Southampton's major shirt sponsor next season. GETTY IMAGES

EPL side Southampton has extended its deal with Virgin Media through the '21-22 season, but the telecom will "no longer be the ... main sponsor" of the club's jerseys. Virgin will instead have its logo "on the sleeves of the first team’s kit." The company will also become the first sponsor of the Southampton women's team. The telecom has been the EPL club's main sponsor since the '16-17 season. There has been no announcement as to who will "become the club’s main shirt sponsor" next season (SOUTHERN DAILY ECHO, 5/10). Virgin will continue its "Super Saints" campaign while also using the sponsorship of the women's team to "help raise awareness about the side through a range of initiatives" (PA, 5/10).
