Safety Top-Of-Mind In Planning CFP Title Game Concessions

COVID precautions were central to Centerplate and Hard Rock Stadium’s food and beverage logistical planning for tonight’s Alabama-Ohio State CFP title game. The stadium’s app will include order-ahead food and beverage options for the 13,000 fans permitted to attend, with distinct pickup locations dotted throughout the venue. Other COVID-mitigation protocols include the elimination of cash payment, concourse condiment stands and food & drink vendors walking into the main seating areas. All food service workers will wear gloves and masks.

“Although this year will look different, this is a championship matchup, and we are prepared to provide a championship level of hospitality,” said Centerplate CEO Steve Pangburn. “We are sourcing from South Florida purveyors and employing nearly 1,000 employees to help boost the regional economy.”

The menu will be limited to the most popular items and include more pre-packaged products to reduce wait time and queuing on the concourses. The menu also will feature team-inspired, locally authentic creations from Hard Rock Stadium executive chef Dayanny De la Cruz, including a Cuban-style sausage sandwich with a spicy relish, an ode to the first CFP championship played in Miami.
