World Series Ticket Demand Down From '19; Pod Seating A Factor

Globe Life Field will continue to welcome around 10,700 fans for World Series games at Globe Life Field starting tonight, and while secondary ticket demand is down from Nationals-Astros last year, pricing still reflects the premium nature of a Fall Classic with limited attendance. Data from SeatGeek shows the average resale price for Rays-Dodgers Game 1 at presstime is $774, significantly lower than the '19 Game 1 average of $945. However, because of required seating in pods, the total order value tracks higher this year: $2891 compared to $2291. The get-in price is just under $300 a ticket in the 300 level, which will still cost $1,188 for a four-seat pod.

Game 4 is currently the "hottest ticket," according to SeatGeek Senior Dir of Brand & Customer Marketing Sarah Kettler, with tickets reselling for an average of $1,116 each, or $4,420 for a four-ticket pod. For the full series, many purchases are local: 30% from Texas, 28% from California and 9% from Florida. Kettler said Game 1 is "seeing more of a local pull with 10% more purchases from Dallas" than the series as a whole.
