Comcast Xfinity Hosting Esports Panel On Cal Campus

Comcast Xfinity and Cal tonight are hosting an on-campus panel discussion on careers in esports featuring Evil Geniuses CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson, Twitch Dir of Sponsorship Operations Katrina Palanca, Fortnite player MoNsTcR and League of Legends competitor Jayden Diaz. After the speaking portion of the panel concludes, students will have the opportunity to meet and play Fortnite with members of the Evil Geniuses team. 

Xfinity is partners with both the university and the esports team, while Cal launched its esports program last year. Xfinity has upped its involvement in both esports and STEM education, in part to promote its broadband offerings. Comcast VP/Sales & Marketing, California Region Kristee Cominiello said, "A hyper-connected campus such as UC Berkeley hosting an egaming event provides the perfect backdrop to showcase and talk about the ultra-fast Xfinity Internet speeds we offer."
