Ledecky Joins Nascent Int'l Swimming League's DC Club
The startup Int'l Swimming League has secured Katie Ledecky for its DC club, nabbing the biggest name in American swimming heading into its inaugural season this fall. Ledecky had been identified as a paid spokesperson for the league, backed by Ukranian billionaire Konstantin Grigorishin, but her competitive intentions had been unclear. Other high-profile names included on the rosters released today by four of the eight clubs: Natalie Coughlin, Lilly King, Cody Miller and South African Chad Le Clos. With four other teams’ rosters still to be announced next week, the intentions of three other paid endorsers are still unknown: Nathan Adrian, Simone Manuel and Ryan Murphy.
