Univision Deportes Will Rebrand As TUDN This Summer

Univision Deportes will be rebranded as TUDN, its parent company Univision Communications announced at a pre-upfront press event today. The rebrand, which effectively translates to “your sports network” in English and is pronounced TU-DE-ENE, will take place this summer in both Mexico and the U.S. The net later this year will launch a new streaming service called TUDNxtra, providing subscribers to participating pay-TV packages in the U.S. with live access to all of the soccer matches TUDN holds the rights to. This includes Liga MX and UEFA's Champions and Europa leagues. It will also add a whiparound show on the service for its UEFA matchday coverage.

Univision Communications said that one major pay-TV provider has already signed on to carry TUDNxtra, with more agreements expected. The service will launch ahead of the '19-20 UEFA Champions League season in September. Also, Univision has signed an extension of its U.S. media-rights deal with the Mexican National Team through '22.
