Mariners Making Some Ballpark Areas Cashless In Pilot Program

The Mariners and concessionaire Centerplate will test out cash-free concessions in parts of T-Mobile Park this season. More than a dozen stands throughout the ballpark, including in the Mariners Garage and The 'Pen areas, will only accept debit, credit and gift cards. The Mariners are managing the pilot project, which will determine the team’s path on the cash-free ballpark model. The majority of concessions stands and the Mariners Team Shop and merchandise areas will continue to accept cash this season.

The team also announced fans will no longer be able to use printed PDF game tickets as the Mariners expand mobile ticketing. Fans can still use printed tickets directly from the team’s ticket office or team stores. Mariners VP/Ticket Operations & Event Services Malcolm Rogel said more than 60% of fans already opt for mobile tickets.
