Charges Filed Against Robert Kraft For Soliciting Prostitution
Patriots Owner Robert Kraft has been formally charged in Palm Beach County, Fla., with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. None of the 25 men implicated have been charged with human trafficking, but State Attorney Dave Aronberg said "that could change." This comes after the NFL earlier today released a second statement on the Kraft situation, saying that it "was 'seeking a full understanding of the facts' before considering any disciplinary action." The league said, "Our Personal Conduct Policy applies equally to everyone in the NFL. We will handle this allegation in the same way we would handle any issue under the Policy. ... We will take appropriate action as warranted based on the facts" (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 2/25).
The court date for Kraft, whose charges relate to Jan. 19 and 20 visits to Orchids of Asia day spa, is set for April 24. He "does not need to appear; his lawyer can appear for him" (ESPN.com, 2/25).
