Johnny Miller Signing Off With Saturday Coverage From Phoenix

Johnny Miller will make his final call as NBC’s lead analyst during next Saturday’s third-round coverage of the PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open. The decision to say goodbye to Miller after the third round was made in an effort to give full attention to final round play on Sunday, and in turn make Saturday all about Miller. Sunday's broadcast will be up against Super Bowl LIII pregame coverage. Saturday will be spent reflecting on Miller’s broadcasting career and include tributes from former and current Tour pros. Miller will briefly join Golf Channel’s second-round coverage on Friday.

Following Miller's departure, NBC/Golf Channel on Sunday will introduce its new lead analyst, Paul Azinger, who will call the final round alongside Dan Hicks. Azinger will initially join Miller and Hicks in the booth briefly on Saturday afternoon for an on-air “changing of the guard,” Hicks said. Azinger will call his first full tournament as lead analyst at the WGC-Mexico Championship, held Feb. 21-24.
