Fire, Motorola Agree To Three-Year Jersey Sponsorship

The Fire have signed a three-year deal with Motorola, making it the club’s new jersey sponsor starting this season. The deal will include the rights to both the first team jersey and the training kit. However, unlike the club’s previous jersey deal with paint company Valspar, it will not include rights to the academy and youth team jerseys. It also does not include the rights to the sleeve patch that MLS clubs will be able to sell starting in the '20 season. The Fire's deal with Valspar expired following last season. That deal, signed in ’15, was valued at around $3M annually, according to sources. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

The Fire and Motorola will formally reveal the partnership tonight at an event at the club’s pop-up shop in the Wrigley Building. Fire President & GM Nelson Rodriguez, Fire COO John Urban and Motorola Head of Partnerships/North America Kelly Wilkie all will appear at the event. The club hired Navigate Research last summer to assist it in finding a new jersey partner.
