USA Triathlon Receives USOC Diversity & Inclusion Award

The USOC NGBs have chosen USA Triathlon as the winner of the USOC’s Diversity & Inclusion Choice Award, which singles out a program created by an NGB to improve the diversity of the sport. USA Triathlon was honored for its Paratriathlon Military Engagement Program, which has helped 45 injured military veterans prepare for paratriathlon competitions this year. USAT ran three training camps for free, which included an opportunity to live and train a the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. All of the NGBs vote on which program should be honored.

As part of the same awards list, the USOC has honored USA Softball with its Advancing Diversity & Inclusion Award, which goes to the NGB with the highest annual growth in the employment of underrepresented groups, including women and racial and ethnic minorities. USAS led all NGBs with a 6% growth from last year.
