Knicks, Warriors Unveil NBA 2K Teams; Virtual Assets To Be Sponsored

MSG Co. today unveiled Knicks Gaming (or KNX Gaming) as the official name of its NBA 2K League team. The logo also was revealed today. Actor Jerry Ferrara, known for HBO's "Entourage" and Starz' "Power," will be Knicks Gaming's Head Scout and Creative Consultant, providing input into player selection and merchandise design. Also today, Warriors Gaming Squad was unveiled as the name of the Warriors' 2K League franchise, along with the logo and social media feeds (THE DAILY).

  
When the new esports league tips off in May, "virtual jerseys and stadiums" in the game "will be sponsored." Longtime Knicks sponsor Chase and new jersey sponsor SquareSpace "will have a presence in the virtual arena that the Knicks Gaming team will be in, which will not be called Madison Square Garden" (ESPN.com, 12/14).
