Black Lives Matter Protesters Confront Jerry Jones At Owners Meetings
Two Black Lives Matter protesters today peacefully confronted Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones in the lobby of the hotel where the NFL owners' meeting is taking place, challenging Jones for saying he would bench players who kneeled for the national anthem. Jones did not reply to the protestors, who held placards, but did appear to listen to them. He afterwards shook the hand of ESPN’s Jim Trotter, who was standing nearby, and shared some words with him. Jones is not one of the owners who met with several players earlier today. However, he is expected to be an influential voice in the current owners' meeting as the league tries to navigate through the political controversy of the anthem-related protests.
