Dannon Confirms Cutting Ties With Cam Newton After Comments

Dannon spokesperson Michael Neuwirth confirmed that Panthers QB Cam Newton "will no longer appear in ads" promoting its Oikos Greek yogurt brand following his controversial comments to a female reporter. Newton, who has endorsed Oikos since '15, "will be paid through the length of the deal" (USATODAY.com, 10/5). Newton replaced actor John Stamos as the brand's "primary spokesperson" in '15, "beating out" Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. Under Armour, Beats by Dre and Buick -- other "primary sponsors" of Newton -- have not "issued comments" since yesterday's press conference (ESPN.com, 10/5).
