Hancock: CFP Exploring Moving Games From New Year's Eve

CFP Exec Dir Bill Hancock today said that the playoff is "starting to explore the possibility of moving national semifinal games away from Dec. 31." Hancock, speaking at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala., said that the "earliest such a move would happen" would be the '18 season. He added that his staff is "looking into moving games to times/dates where more fans could watch" (TAMPABAY.com, 7/13). 

Hancock also addressed the Big 12's decision to add a conference championship game after the '17 season. He said, "It gives them another quality opponent. It is a game changer" (ESPN.com, 7/13).
