Tucson, Little Rock Vying To Host New College Bowl Games

Tucson "will apply for a new bowl game this season," and sources said that Little Rock "has 'strong interest' in also adding a game." The deadline to apply for new bowl certification with the NCAA is Wednesday. The addition of the two games "would increase the number of bowls to 42." The Tucson game, played at the Univ. of Arizona, would feature teams from the Mountain West and Conference USA. Sources said that the Little Rock bowl at War Memorial Stadium "would pair teams from the American and Sun Belt" (ESPN.com, 3/30).
