Octagon's Baseball Division Adds Agents With Dominican Focus

Octagon’s baseball division today added agents Jay Alou, Brian Mejia and Ulises Cabrera. All three MLB-certified agents specialize in representing players from the Dominican Republic. They are expected to bring more than a dozen baseball player clients with them. Alou represents Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista, Twins P Ervin Santana and D-Backs 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas, among others. Alou previously worked at Epitome Sports Management, an agency he founded. Mejia and Cabrera worked at the Dominican Prospect League, a non-profit league for top Latin American prospects.

All three agents will report to Octagon Baseball Managing Dir Alan Nero. Financial terms for the hires were not disclosed. Octagon will now represent about 200 baseball clients, including about 50 current MLBers.
