Struggling Yankees, Red Sox On National TV For Weekend Series
This weekend's Yankees-Red Sox series will see all three games televised nationally, "despite the Yankees being third in the AL East and the Red Sox in last place." This comes as there are "two series set for this weekend in which both teams are either first in their division or not far behind" – Brewers-Cardinals and Royals-A's. But the season's fourth Yankees-Red Sox series remains the "most important thing for the networks," namely MLB Net, FS1 and ESPN (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 8/1).
The first 10 games between the Yankees and Red Sox this season "have taken an average of 3 hours 10 minutes, which would make this the speediest edition of the rivalry" since '95, according to Stats LLC (WSJ.com, 7/31).
