NASCAR this weekend at Iowa Speedway will debut its Social Wall Powered by HP, allowing fans to see and interact with real-time social media posts and data surrounding the race weekend (NASCAR).

The Minneapolis City Council on Friday "called for safety measures to protect migratory birds from flying into" the new Vikings stadium, and will request fritted glass – "bird-safe glass that has subtle patterns to make it more noticeable" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/1). The Vikings previously said they would not install the glass (THE DAILY).

The CFL and Canada Beef Inc. on Friday announced a three-year sponsorship agreement (CFL).

The Univ. of Maine and multimedia rights partner Learfield Sports announced that Portland-based WPME-TV has been added to the Black Bear Television Network (Learfield Sports).

This Sunday's edition of the N.Y. TIMES MAGAZINE includes a lengthy feature about the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, the "sport’s largest incubator of teenage talent" (THE DAILY).
