The NBPA spent about $5.42M on “the internal audit that resulted in the firing” of Exec Dir Billy Hunter, according to filings with the U.S. Labor Department. The forms list a total of 438 union members, which breaks the cost down to $12,378 per player. Annual union dues are $10,000. The biggest expense, at $3.56M, was to Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP, which conducted the review.
