Woods Returning To Competition Faster To Benefit Foundation
Tiger Woods today said that he "probably would not have returned" at this week's PGA Tour Quicken Loans National "unless it benefited his charity foundation." Woods, who is recovering from back surgery, said, "If this wasn't the foundation and the impact that we can have on kids, I probably would not. ... Our goal was the British Open (next month). I healed extremely fast thanks to my physios and my nutrition" (REUTERS, 6/24). Woods "has missed two of the last three" iterations of this tournament (GOLFCHANNEL.com, 6/24).
