NASL Indy Eleven Officials Expect Sellout Crowd For Inaugural Game
The NASL Indy Eleven on Saturday will play their inaugural game, and team officials are “expecting a sellout of about 11,000 fans when they host” the Carolina RailHawks at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium. Univ. of Indianapolis sports marketing professor Larry DeGaris, on the affordable ticket prices compared to Pacers and Colts games: "It's not an accident that the Eleven has taken off. ... A lot of millennials are coming of age and they want to do stuff, but they don't have a lot of money" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 4/11).
Meanwhile, the NASL Tampa Bay Rowdies Saturday will host their home opener against FC Edmonton following offseason changes that include a new Principal Owner in Bill Edwards and more premium seating at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg (THE DAILY).
