Charlotte Knights Opening New Ballpark With Sold Out Game

The Triple-A Int'l League Charlotte Knights will open their new BB&T Ballpark Friday night with a home game against the Norfolk Tides. The sold-out game and "subsequent fireworks display will bring more than 10,000 people" to the venue and surrounding area (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 4/11). The club now is faced with "handling much larger crowds – attendance could triple compared with last season – while providing hot food, cold drinks, clean restrooms and stellar customer service." Team execs forecast sales rising to $12M from $3.5M annually in recent seasons (BIZJOURNALS.com, 4/11).
