Sports Media Pays Tribute To Comic Legend Harold Ramis

Actor, writer and director Harold Ramis, whose films included “Caddyshack,” died today at the age of 69 from complications related to autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. A host of sports media figures paid tribute today on Twitter. FoxSports.com's Erik Malinowski tweeted, "From 1978-1984, Ramis cowrote Animal House, Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes, and Ghostbusters. That’s a Hall of Fame run there." NBA.com's David Aldridge: "This makes me quite sad. RIP Harold Ramis, an amazingly funny actor, great director and decent person." K.C. Star's Andy McCullough: "Rest in peace, Harold Ramis. I hope you received total consciousness."

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt: "Man, that's sad. He was a comedic genius, as an actor, writer and director. Didn't get much better than him." N.Y. Post's Joel Sherman: "My pal, Hale, and I watched SCTV religiously as kids. Thought Harold Ramis was comedy genius." ESPN's Matthew Berry: "Wrote or said more quotable movie lines than anyone. Very sad to hear of the passing of Harold Ramis." Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Dwyer: "A bad day just got way worse. Live on, Harold Ramis. ... Like, I almost cried in the theater when Harold Ramis popped up in 'Knocked Up,' it was so unexpectedly cool to see him again."
