ACC To Keep Football Title Game In Charlotte Through '19

The ACC today announced that it will keep the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium through '19. The venue has hosted the last four ACC title games. The games have averaged 69,632 fans per contest, including sellout crowds in '10 and '11.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Sports Foundation, which helps organize and sell tickets for the ACC championship game, the Belk Bowl, and in some years a neutral-site college football game, is considering a seat license that would guarantee the license holder tickets to each of those events. Foundation Exec Dir Will Webb said the license would most likely be free, but the license holder would sign a six-year contract to buy tickets to each of the games, and in return, would be guaranteed seats in the same location.
