Indianapolis 500 Entry Could Be Sponsored By Crowdsourcing Campaign
IndyCar team Sarah Fisher Hartman racing has "signed on as the beneficiary of a local movement" led by Indianapolis-area racing fans Travis Tetrault and Jason Godby. Their goal is to raise $1M in $100 increments to "sponsor a car in this year's Indianapolis 500." The race team's second car "will carry the names of everyone who donated at least $100 to the effort." If the goal is achieved, the team "has agreed to put no other sponsor decals on the car" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 2/14).
