Prudential Center Could See Boost In Bookings After Media Day Success

Prudential Center CEO Scott O'Neil, whose venue played host to Super Bowl Media Day today, said the Newark arena should be poised for a boost in bookings after holding the high-profile event. Media Day drew more than 3,000 credentialed media and more than 7,000 paying fans. O’Neil said, "This is such a huge thing for this building and this market. I've long felt the Prudential Center and downtown Newark were some of the best kept secrets out there, and I'm hoping it won't be a secret anymore."

The booking of Prudential Center for Super Bowl Media Day predates the arrival of new Devils Owner Josh Harris and O'Neil. But the event nonetheless represented a rare weekday opening for the arena. O’Neil: "We've done a few convention types of things here before, but having this kind of event we hope opens up a whole new realm of opportunities."
