Akron's Double-A Eastern League team is changing its name from the Aeros to the RubberDucks, a "tribute to the city's rubber industry." The "new brand is a snarling black duck with a tire tread and flames shooting out of its head." The logo was designed by marketing firm Brandiose (OHIO.com, 10/29). 

Time Warner Cable today said that Chair & CEO Glenn Britt "has been diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer and is currently undergoing treatment." Britt in a memo to employees said he "will continue to work until my retirement at the end of the year" (MULTICHANNEL.com, 10/29).

Jon Barry has reached a multiyear deal to serve as the lead NBA game analyst on ESPN Radio. He will work more than 40 regular-season and playoff broadcasts this season alongside returning play-by-play announcer Kevin Calabro (ESPN).

The Devils have signed Goli Vodka as the team's official vodka sponsor in a multiyear deal (Devils).

The Maryland Jockey Club today unveiled the logo for the 139th running of the Preakness. The '14 logo was "designed by the Leffler Agency for the 15th straight year" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 10/29).
