Randy Freer Promoted To Fox Networks Group President & COO

Fox promoted Randy Freer to Fox Networks Group President & COO, a move that puts the longtime Fox exec over the group's affiliate and ad sales divisions for Fox' broadcasting channel, Fox Sports, FX, Fox Int'l and National Geographic. Freer, who will continue to report to Fox Chair & CEO Peter Rice, also will continue to oversee sports rights acquisitions and team relationships. In the past year, he has picked up USGA rights, renewed NASCAR rights and picked up the YES Network.

With Freer's move, Eric Shanks becomes Fox Sports President; he had been co-President with Freer. Shanks also will continue to report to Rice. In his new role, Freer's direct reports will include Fox Distribution President Mike Biard, National Ad Sales President Toby Byrne, Ad Sales President Lou LaTorre and Home Team Sports Exec VP Kyle Sherman.
