Spalding's NBA Game Balls Will Have Silver's Signature On Feb. 1

NBA and ball supplier Spalding "in an about-face" Friday said that official game balls "will carry Adam Silver's signature beginning the day he succeeds David Stern" as league Commissioner. Spalding previously said that game-used balls "would carry Stern's signature for the entire 2013-14 season." Spalding Senior VP Paul Sullivan said after a report on the Stern signature surfaced, "we talked a lot more about the NBA" and "jumped through hoops making sure the NBA has Adam Silver balls that are broken in and ready for Feb. 1," when Stern steps down (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 10/25).
