El Paso's New Triple-A Team Set To Unveil Club Name, Logo

El Paso's new Triple-A PCL team this evening will unveil its new name, logo and colors "after months of speculation." Club officials have been "pretty hush on the name, admitting not everyone in their own ranks knows what it is." Sports marketing company Brandiose helped create the name and design elements (EL PASO TIMES, 10/22). The team "narrowed down over 5,000 nominations submitted during a name-the-team contest" to five finalists: Aardvarks, Buckaroos, Chihuahuas, Desert Gators and Sun Dogs (BASEBALLAMERICA.com, 10/22).
